The
following account(s) on the whereabouts of brods and what
they are up to was taken from "What Alphans all over
the world are doing" which appeared in our official
newsletter The Alphan Chronicle, Volume 1, Issue 1, January

developments and recently-gathered information.

- Jijil Jimenez ('85A),labor attaché in Kuwait, has
adopted the Arabic sobriquet Ibn Zigbin, meaning son of
Zigbin, mythical wild cat that roams the hills of Agusan
in days of yore. He works with Brod Bayani Mangibin (Batch
?), Charge d'affaires at PhilEm in Kuwait.
- Nick Illescas ('76D) is opening a lotto outlet in Bulacan.
His daily take is P10 thousand, so Nick reports. He welcomes
investors.
- Kris de Jesus (92E) has formed a paper-file-to-digital
outfit. His partners are Keven Camagay ('96B) and Hexilon
Alvarez ('92E). Their first job is a P100 thousand contract
with a VIP who's also a brod.
- Sani Yuson ('63) will spend the next 3 or so months in
Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia to study informal economies
in those places. He got a research grant from the Japanese
government.
- Will Sonny Alvarez ('52) take on the job as czar of the
super anti-drug agency? The answer to this remains a mystery.
- Manny Sanchez ('66) joined Sonny Alvarez as DENR Undersecretary.
He's staying put even as Sonny has gone.
- Nonong Balanon ('57) is bent on another bid for mayorship
of Butuan City. He almost made it last time, winning the
poblacion but losing out by 500 votes in remote areas. His
money ran out.
- Tom del Castillo ('57) still lords it over at the Inquirer
as legal counsel. But he salutes to publisher Gani Yambot
('52).

- Ed Malaya ('82), consul of the Philippine Consulate in
San Francisco, California, is number three man of the consulate,
while the Vice Consul General is brod Leodocio Cardenas
(Batch ?).
- LC Mario Zinampan ('94) is bored in Tokyo. He's a MONBUSHO
scholar taking up masters in Public Policy and Administration

- LC Taipan Millan ('91A) has joined up with DTI Secretary
Mar Roxas if he decides to run for the Senate. IF!
- Bani Aguirre ('63) is on top of a group of former United
Nations officials who hope to put to bear their collective
brain power on national issues and problems. Bani spent
20 years with the UN and his last post was UNDP Country
Programme Director in Sudan. He's one of the highest ranking
career Filipino officials of the UNDP when he retired last
year.
- Richard Taguinod ('89), member of both Philippine and
California Bars, is immigration & contracts lawyer of
California, & helps undocumented Filipinos in US.
- Raul Villanueva('82), after Assets Privitization Trust
and the Privitization Management Office under now Alumni
LC Rene Valdecantos, has gone on to become youngest Regional
Trial Court Judge in the Phil. at the National Capital Region
Trial Court Branch 255, Las Piñas.
